Over the past 30 years, Michael has been involved in managing, acquiring and divesting both public and private companies across the water sector in Asia, Europe and North America. He has an in-depth knowledge and experience of operating companies that provide technology in to both the Municipal and Industrial water markets.
Michael is currently Managing Director at London based Resonance Asset Management, providing equity investments for Industrial Build-Own-Transfer (BOT) Water projects in Europe and Asia. He is also a Managing Partner at Paris based Amane Advisors, responsible for assisting clients in the Water sector across Asia with defining and implementing strategy, development of innovation, mergers & acquisitions.
His past appointments include serving as Chairman of British Water and as a Member of the Board on several public and private companies, namely CDS Technologies, an Australian water technology company listed on the ASX; Christ Water Technologies (CWT) previously listed on the Vienna exchange, where he was a member of the supervisory Board following the acquisition by GLV Inc. Subsequent to the acquisition of CWT, Michael developed the strategy and rebranded the combined entities to form Ovivo, where he managed the Industrial Water Division, a $240 million business with operations across 14 different countries. Today, Ovivo is listed on the TSX in Canada, focused on providing water technology to the Energy, Microelectronics and Municipal markets.
Michael had started his career by building a water technology business with his father, that was focused on the Municipal water market in the UK and which they sold to Pennon Group. Subsequently, Michael acquired the business back, making several acquisitions along the way before selling his interest in the business for a second time.
Michael’s background as an operator, owner and investor in water technology companies, serving both the Industrial and Municipal markets across multiple countries, provides strong global insight to the water industry.
